This is not a gossipy tell-all book. Rather, it is a secret serviceman's account of his years guarding Mrs. Kennedy. It is clear that the author was in love with Jackie Kennedy, much as he denies it. But that is understandable after all the time they spent together. I actually found it difficult to like Mrs. Kennedy after reading this book. She seemed like a spoiled, upper class woman who spent little time with her children and all her time "escaping" Washington. Interesting because I don't think a first lady could get away with that now.

Overall, an interesting historical perspective.
