Michael Pollan presents his experience trying to root out the entire chain of how food ends up on the table, and while he offers strong opinions, it never comes across as preachy. Split into three parts, he examines our reliance on corn in the first part, what organic farming actually means in the second, and the third involves his attempt to create a meal completely gathered, grown and hunted himself.

Easy to read and a compelling story, The Omnivore's Dilemma certainly gave me *ahem* food for thought.
