Recommended for: people who enjoy history and reading about different ways of life.

This book is fairly thin, and a fast read. I enjoyed reading the descriptions of farm life during the depression - it reminded me a bit of the Little House series, in that regard - but there really wasn't much of a story line. It's more like a collection of vignettes.
