Bree's review
The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris
I had forgotten just how much of the dialogue in the movie was lifted directly from the book. The film and book complement each other well- Lecter on the page is even more deliciously sleazy when you remember Hopkins' performance, and the woman in the well is much more fleshed out (hardy har har)as a three dimensional character in the book. Clarice is just as wishy washy in both, and despite my genetic disposition to perpetually admire Ms. Foster, this wasn't one of Jodie's most nuanced performances (despite what the Academy voted.) A fun read that transcends mass market paperback standards.
