Once again, I wish that Goodreads would introduce half stars because this book deserves an extra half. I enjoyed it and feel like I learned thing about the game of baseball that I never knew. The story did not move very fast and at times seemed to get bogged down with too many details of the game. Maybe it needed to for those who love baseball. I just skimmed over those paragraphs to stay engaged with the story. I think the likely hood of Warren and Joe connecting near the end of the story is far fetched, especially with the stone cold heart of Warren Tracy. The character development was not in depth. But I don't think Grisham intended for this to be a deep novel. It is nice to see a book still focusing on the importance of forgiveness both for the offended and the offender.

Robin Garson If you like baseball books, you might want to check out A Pitch For Justice. I enjoyed the courtroom drama very much. It looks at a criminal prosecution against a Phillies pitcher who throws a pitch that hits a batter in the head with fatal results.
