** spoiler alert ** A beautiful romance with the most adorable _ i have to use this word :) _ hero. Anthony Hamilton is absolutely marvelous. I think i'm a little infatuated with him...(smile) wich explains the fact that i couldn't let go of this reading until the very last page. Which happened to occur at half past three in the morning.
Anthony hasn't had an easy life. Although son of an Earl he ends up all by himself at the age of fifteen, after been kicked out by his mean spirited father. Born ten years after his parents got married, his father ,the earl, treats him like a bastard son. Fortunately for Anthony he has an amazing mind, which allows him to be completely invencible at cards. Action that helps keep destitution at bay. But Anthony wants to win on his own, and show his lack excuse of a father, how far he will go, all on his own. So he starts making investments as well as playing the Change. Young, and fearless, he starts gaining a reputation. Most of times the money that he receives to invest, is from women, most of whom, he gets involved to.
He knows Celia Reece since she was little. An old friend of David's, Anthony would find in the Reece household some semblance of family. That is, until the voyager Duchess, Celia's mother, stops allowing his visits on the base of his reputation.
So, when all of the sudden, Anthony, reencounters a grown up Celia, we see the feelings that he has had for her blossom. Suddenly, Anthony is too well aware that his reputation could well destroy any chances that he could have with her.
Celia is a sunny, cheerful girl, of eighteen who is enjoying her first season in London. Considered the "belle" of the season, she's surrounded by a multitude of suitors. When she reencounters Anthony, it's like meeting and old dear friend. And sometimes she cannot help but wonder about him...but life isn't a fairy tale, and sometimes things dont turn out the way one hopes.
Now four years later, Celia is a shadow of herself. Widowed, she returns to her family estate, where her mother hopes she will return to her old self. A house party is assembled, and friends of Celia are invited in the hopes of drawing that one out. Anthony is one of those guests.... and soon after, Anthony finds himself trying to help Celia out of her depression. But trying to help Celia, means baring his heart and soul. And to soon, Anthony, realizes that some things never leave you, and that some feelings are just too strong to be kept quiet. Will he be able to convince Celia to give them a chance?
Well, this is a romance. So you know what the answer to that will be...but until you get here, hopefully _ like i did _ you will find yourself completely enthralled by Anthony and Celia's story.

I'm really liking this one. So far, this story, is as good as the first book of the series. Anthony and Celia are great characters."
