Schmidt is a great writer.
It is interesting how being a great writer even transcends into other languages - and I realized that I was learning it in spite of myself.
But this is a very different type of book than Schmidt has written before. It still has the characteristics of friends and family and loss and loyalty, like a good realistic story. Set with characters not of this world mingling with those we can identify. Very interesting read.
