really liked it

I thought this was a very interesting murder mystery set on Long Island in 1947. The book also provided some interesting history of fishing on the island and some details of the main character's role in WWII. It reminded me of maybe one of Dashiell Hammett's or Raymond Chandler's mysteries from the 40s but maybe not as hard-boiled. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.
