The Invaders by John Flanagan

Brotherband just keeps getting better!! And, of course, Vikings (or Skandians) make everything a little more fun!

Hal and the crew of the Heron are on the run. Since a treasured relic was stolen from the Skandians (a treasure that the Heron Broherband was supposed to be guarding), they have been sailing after the pirates that changed their lives. The boys are determined to recover the treasure and salvage their good names.
The first part of the story deals with more training as the boys wait out a storm. While they know how to work together, they are not seasoned enough to go after pirates. But Thorn, the crusty old berserker, is determined to whip the Herons into the perfect condition. Hal also starts inventing again, making a weapon that he can use to destroy the Raven.
The second half is where the action really picks up. The storm has abated and the crew sets out to seek their revenge. As they sail up the coast, they quickly run across a girl, Lydia, whose town is being held hostage by the pirates. Hal and his crew set out to save the town and catch the pirates. They also get a little help from their old Skandian friends. Eric, the oberjarl, sent out his most trusted crew, Svengal and the Wolfwind, to find the Heron and help the crew.

Great fun. I can't wait until the next book comes out!!!!
