That took forever! There is lots to like in this this sprawling book but I had a hard time caring about most of the characters because we get to spend so little time with each of them. This could easily have been turned into a three or maybe even four book series. I honestly think it would be much more successful & engaging than the messy & disjointed book I just read. Many intriguing ideas & people are only touched upon briefly. (I still have no idea what a cobbly is!)
