Ah, the RiverMaster and his young swabbie. Yum.

Beautifully written tale of adventure and love on the river wild. the atmosphere is vivid, the characters are instantly compelling and the world is wonderfully enveloping. I felt the spray, I smelled the river-wrack, and I fell instantly in love with Taran and Merimac. The 'December' in this May-December relationship is probably more like an August, and dayum, he's certainly got the *cough* drive to give young Taran a run for his money.

A terrific short beautifully told. More, please!
