** spoiler alert ** This book was incredibly well written but I am very disappointed on the route Juliet Grey took with Marie-Antoinette and Axel. I gave this 4 stars because the thrill and drama was there but the accuracy one the affair of the queen was not. I would like to point out that her "affair" was nothing but rumor. If she had consummated anything more than an emotional relationship (which that I will say is very evident) someone would have known she was NEVER alone and people spied on her constantly. Any sexual relationship between her and Axel would have been known. Besides she was too distressed about her father's open affair and how it affected her beloved mother to ever be in the same position. I am very disappointed that anything more than a kiss wAs added to this book especially since Grey herself has stated that an affair was not possible.
