Interesting description of Australia's convict history.
Describes the gruesome treatment of convicts, slavery starvation, violence .... I thought it was interesting to read about the historical purpose and use of prisons. Surprised to learn that most convicts that were transported were transported for minor offenses like stealing, often stealing to survive.
