Weighing in at almost 300 pounds, Troy doesn't exactly have an easy life. Waiting for the subway one day, he considers ending it all and stepping in front of a train. He's saved though, by an apparently homeless boy who turns out to be semi-punk rock legend, Curt McCrae. Curt insists that Troy now owes him a favor, and makes Troy play drums in his band. The only problem: Troy doesn't play drums. Curt and Troy practice night and day to make their band into something amazing. This book is both really funny and really heartwarming. Fat Kid Rules The World is a great read. Recommended for ages 15 and up.
