Won on Goodreads in May 2012.

I have no background at all in the topic of the stock market. The author has explained the topic in a clear way such that a complete beginner like myself can understand the concepts put forth by the book. Many illustrations are used to help prove and visually explain the point the author is making. None of the graphs are redundant either.

The only criticism I can make so far is that in the first five or so pages there is a big learning curve during and after which the terms used in the book are defined. Due to the simplicity of the writing and multiple reiterations of the definitions and concepts, I'd assume the book is for beginners. If I were to look at the first 5 pages, I'd say the book was for someone who knew some stock market knowledge (upper beginner or so). I'd say the definitions of some terms need to be put in a bit earlier for some of the jargon used. I am used to reading text books that require a bit of patience to get past the first chapter, but some people who are just skimming the first few pages of the book may choose not to read it, which would be a shame.

The rest of the book is very clear and understandable. The author makes a topic interesting to those who are not in the field.
