While I do like Philippa Gregory's choice of historical subjects, and style - this one fell flat for me. The story about Mary, Queen of Scots, felt quite thin, and very "hurried" at the end. Ending with a "dream sequence" of all things! If it had been tidied up with anything other than that - I would have felt it more of a solid story. It just didn't give me anything more of substance regarding Mary, Queen of Scots from the first half of the book, compared to the last half of the book. Maybe history just doesn't substantiate anything more than what little there is?
