High Fidelity by Nick Hornby
This is one of those book that has been on my 'to-read' list for years (and on my shelf for as long). It suited my mood perfectly. I needed a well written but but light hearted book to read and I enjoyed the many moments of mirth that Hornby's writing afforded. Hornby's satirical humour seemed to hold up a mirror to not only British, but also Western culture. In the end I loved Rob's final epiphany - at some point we need to stop chasing the fantasy and enjoy the here and now - the day to day reality of our relationships.
