The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks was one of the best romantic novels I have ever read. The book had everything in it from romance to action to mystery which made it interesting to read. One of the main things I liked about this The Lucky One was the way the author portrayed the characters. Nicholas Sparks did a great job at making the characters relatable. All of the characters had their own personalities that were well-rounded and developed nicely to each person.

Another thing I enjoyed about the book was the author’s style of writing. The author didn’t only give one persons thoughts and feelings throughout the book Sparks made each chapter of the book from a different main characters point of view. I enjoyed being able to visualize how each character felt throughout the book. The author wasn’t too simplistic but at the same time wasn’t too verbose. There was parts of the book that made you upset but, then Sparks would lighten the mood. The dialogue was also relatable to every day conversation. Overall the style fit perfectly with the book.

The Lucky One had a good point to it. From this book I have learned a few life lessons from the characters. From Logan Thibault I learned that even if something seems almost impossible to achieve, if you set your mind to it, you can do it. From Beth I learned that you should never be quick to judge a person based on their past and that you should always be open to new things. From this book I will probably be more willing to try new things and be more accepting of people. I would recommend this book to both boys and girls in high school and up. It isn’t just a “girl” because it has some romance; it also has chapters about what Logan Thibault experienced in war.
