This was a fairly intriguing story, the first the author has ever written in this vein. I found the main characters interesting. The plot, though fairly good, was rather predictable. Since Dan Brown's bestseller a few years back, just about everyone has tied plots into some sort of religious or quasi-religious theme, so having this book in that realm was not surprising. I wish the author would have developed characters a bit more, though that would probably have lagely increased the length of the book (and may have made it somewhat boring). In particular, I would have liked more development of the wife of the murdered academic and of her daughter and their relationship. I also thought that, though it was sort of there, the relationships between the daughter and the two male friends of her father were not very developed, until suddenly, at the end, two were together as a couple. I have always enjoyed the author's books and I did this one.
