I love to read many different types of books, but if I have one genre that I go back to whenever I have to be entertained it is the mystery-crime novels. Having nearly finished the Michael Connelly, Lee Child, John Sandford, etc mysteries, I decided to try an Evanovich book and was I surprised. I didn't even know that there was a movie! I will go see it because I have no idea if this book supposed to be a mystery or a comedy, because it was funny and not very mysterious. Stephanie Plum is lucky to be alive, was in more helpless situations than Alice in Wonderland. She easily used her femininity throughout the book and finally ended the novel by being shot in the ass. A strict feminist would admire her being street-smart, determined, often clever but would be offended by her helplessness, naivitee or her penchant for being sexually exploited on every bakery floor in Trenton, New Jersey. Not the best mystery I ever read, but clever, amusing and easy to read.
