I liked this book - it had some sweet, touching and funny moments - but I found it too flawed to give more than three stars. It did not "grab" me to the point that I became immersed in it - I was always aware that I was reading a book. I prefer to get so drawn into a book that it takes me a while to realize that the phone is ringing or there's someone at the door. I spotted some inconsistencies within the characters that made them less believable for me. Example - I did not think a woman with Lynne's sensitivity and devotion to her friends would hold a grudge against her mother for over 20 years. But it was somewhat entertaining to read and I enjoyed the descriptions of the martinis.
