Why use a sentence when we can be bored with two paragraphs that say the same thing!! This is a good idea which is so overwritten as to become almost unreadable. We are treated to endless descriptions of courtroom procedure and then, more endless, courtroom cross examination that becomes so tedious that I nearly did not finish the book. The idea of how the trial of a son for murder rips apart his parents and those in the community, in this case Newton, MA, is a good one. However, in the hands of someone who apparently gets paid by the word, the reader is left drowning in superfluous prose. Please tell me need literally pages of dialogue to get to a simple conclusion. Enough said, I have already spent too much time writing this!!
