The book begins with lots of necessary Rand & Perrin storyline, then Egwene going about her business. All relevant later, but I'm always impatient to get back to Mat and Nynaeve in Ebou Dar. This is a shorter book with an oddly abrupt ending, but it contains so many of my favorite scenes in the whole series! Mat and Birgitte's night out, and Aviendha & Birgitte taking Elayne and Nynaeve to task, and Nynaeve on the river boat (!), and Elayne and Mat seeing past their misperceptions of each other for the first time ... Mat's last scene in Ebou Dar is great too, lots of chaos and color and ending with a boom. I always slow for a bit in my re-read after I finish this one. Book 8 - what's the hurry?

I take a star off for Tylin. Ugh. That's all I have to say about that.
