We read this book in the book club at work and I didn't expect to like it that well. I don't normally like stories that are so fantasical but the story was a good story about people and relationships as much as about the fantasy of the night circus.

Patty Linda, did you read my review of this book (on CD)?
I pictured the scenes as they were in the TV series, "Carnivale" Have you watchd that?

Patty I just saw this video of Jim Dale reading the N C. It would be pretty darn lucky to get your work read by him for an audible book.

Linda Barone Hi Patty,
I hadn't really seen your review before I read/listened to the book. I think that I came to the book not expecting to like it much so ending up being pleasantly surprised as opposed to disapointed (from having a high expectation). I never watched the TV series Carnivale, so didn't have that as a visual reference. I did like Jim Dale as a reader. I listen to books a lot and I think that a good reader can enhance a book and a reader that I don't like can ruin a book. This one was difficult to keep track of the way the time kept shifting. I agree that sometimes you also need the book nearby for reference. When I'm reading a book and they give you the date at the beginning of a chapter - somehow that sticks in my mind much better than hearing it.
