The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
One of the first books that I had to read for school that I completely fell in love with and one of the few books I've reread to multiple times. There is some irony that I find myself returning to a book about the inaccessibility of the past, but I rationalize it as trying to find new angles to appreciate it each time. But then I hit a sentence like "He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God," and I know what keeps me coming back to Gatsby is the desire to experience the same flawless language again and again.
