A clear 4 stars for me! I have known of Coben for years, and recieved a number of recomendations for him over the years...yet nothing of his ever jumped out at me and I never got around to checking to him out. Untill last month....I totally enjoyed his first book in his Bolitar series, and have book 2 on my to read shelf...but I wanted to try one of his stand alone novels...and I was not disappointed at all!

This book had some interesting characters, an did an amazing job of cloaking most/all of them in deception to the point that it was difficult (in a good way) to know who anyone truely was and where their allegiences may lie...even the twisted ending, leaves us with the idea that even those we thought we knew, had much more about them than previously believed...and in one case more than the charcter even believed!

The plot/mystery was gripping from the beggining, and had so many layers and points of misdirection that although I was able to peice some of it together the total picture eluded me untill the end. A pleasant blend of character development, plot/mystery, action and suspense. A very cool read!
