it was amazing
bookshelves: kindle-library-books

I loved this book, perhaps because I love museums, buildings that have a mind of their own, dystopian children's literature and mischievous protagonists. I was not expecting to love this book; the blurb made it sound like a mere vehicle for a none-too-subtle denunciation of parenting and religion in general (with plot an inconvenient necessity). Hardly! Were parents overprotective? Yes. Were they inherently evil? No. The plot was rich, the characterization impeccable, and the pacing was excellent. And though this book is one in a series, it works well as a standalone novel.
