bookshelves: scifi-fantasy, sword-and-laser
Read in April, 2012

Harry Potter in college, i.e., little school, lots of drinking, thinking you know everything, and still hating life.

I read this book because it was the April pick for Sword and Laser and it was pretty good. The characters are easily hatable, lovable, and relatable. While there can be some dull moments in the book, Lev Grossman makes up for them with some really big scenes. At the end of the book there were some plot lines that were never finished, which bugged me so I had to start reading the sequel "The Magician King."
