I wasn't sure how the author would rescue this novel's heroine, who was "jilted" in the previous Follow My Lead. But she does so in a totally believable way, allowing Sarah to take refuge in her identity as society's feted "Golden Lady." When Sarah is reunited with her childhood love, Jack, however, he sees through her facade to the vulnerable woman she is. And when Jack assumes the role of the Blue Raven, England's favorite secret agent, Sarah must work with him to uncover a dangerous spy. A neat twist at the end, a lovely romance, and Noble's trademark touches of humor make this one a keeper.
