The Lady is a Vamp (Argeneau, #17)

This book really isn't for me. An circular, predictable old school romance with a gloss of the paranormal over the top, I found the characters and plot pretty boring. Sands has a tendency to include a lot of extraneous details in the narrative, which did not mask the fact that not much is going on. At about the halfway point, things spiced up. The main characters start to get it on and there was a plot twist I didn't see coming, but things quickly tumbled down into minutiae again and I lost interest. Boomer, Shih Tzu Harbinger of Doom, was the best character, and the plot become infinitely more frustrating when all of the drama disappeared with some slight of the hand accounting. Fans of the series may be be happy enough just seeing a known heroine get her happily ever after (and see past characters living out their immortality), but that wasn't enough for me.
