3.5 stars. I don't know if it's because this is the last book in the series and I had a good idea of how it would end or for another reason, but this book never really grabbed me. I read half of it, set it down for over a week and didn't have a strong desire to finish it. I finished it out of duty more than desire. It wasn't bad--it just wasn't great.

One thing it does do is wrap up the Saghred story line with a neat little bow. (view spoiler)[Imagine how you'd expect a happily-ever-after to go, and that's pretty much it. (hide spoiler)]

And as much as I love Raine, I really don't care for Mychael. Part of it is the spelling (why, oh, why, must it be a y?), but part of it is he's kind of flat for me. I was very much on team Tam, because he has a depth of character I think Mychael is lacking. (view spoiler)[I'd definitely read a book about Tam and Imala's blossoming relationship. (hide spoiler)]
