What's funny is that it was made to satisfy product commitments for producer Georges de Beauregard as his production of Rivette's
La Religieuse had been banned. Godard was shooting
2 ou 3 choses que je sais d'elle</i. but to help out his old friend he embarked on <i>Made in U.S.A. as well, thus making two films at the same time. One shoot was in the morning the other in the afternoon.
