If, as I do, you enjoy all things mysterious, this book is for you.
The early part of the story paints a picture of several very different characters and their interactions with the real world and Obscura, the 'other' world.
For our protagonist, Holly, the mystery begins when she spots something unusual when peering into a neighbour's garden. For Holly, there is a very blurred boundary between the familiar world and the one she will learn about at the exclusive Highlands Academy.
Intrigue carries the story along, and we meet some haunting, peculiar characters on the way. Their appearance is engraved in my mind through the author's vivid description.
Before I stumble back in to reality, a word of caution: all is not what it seems!
