Read from April 30 to May 20, 2012

The always-reliable Lincoln Child continues to spin thrilling stories that are packed with history, science and the supernatural. Whether writing solo or with his frequent writing partner, Douglas Preston, his work is always worth picking up.

THE THIRD GATE is based in a most unlikely place, the Sudd --- a forsaken muddy swamp on the outskirts of Egypt. A team of explorers, scientists and supernatural observers set up a unique encampment on top of this pit of mire in search of the ancient burial place of King Narmer. Long purported to be full of riches as well as an ancient curse, the team will stop at nothing to uncover this long-buried tomb --- but when things start going very wrong thoughts of the curse being real permeates every member of the expedition with horrific consequences.

A great read and sure to be a big hit at the beach this summer!
