I think this book is more 3.5 stars than 4, but that's not an option, so I was generous. While there were gripping parts in the story, there were also a number of holes in the plot that made me think that Harris did a disservice to her characters. Not to give the story away, but I was dumbfounded how Sookie and the usually astute vampires could overlook a glaring problem in the summit's security detail. Sookie does question it, but then just files it in the back of her mind rather than give it serious deliberation.

The romance aspect didn't progress all that much from Book 6, although her relationship with Eric is altered, against Sookie's wishes (hard to tell if Eric feels the same way). That scene really bothered me and I wish that Sookie had reflected on its nature more than she did. Maybe in Book 8, so it remains to be seen.

Overall, I think All Together Dead is one of the weaker of the books in the series so far. The summit went on for too long and the characters seemed to be acting in a fog, ignoring what was happening around them. Having said that, it was a good read--and the aftermath of what happened at the summit should be an interesting setup for the next book (or books) in the series.
