** spoiler alert ** This is the final book in the As The World Dies Trilogy and I've been looking forward to reading it. Though I have to admit that I put it off for as long as I could because I knew that once I read this, Katie and Jenni's stories were done. :(

The Ashley Oaks fort has finally become a safe place to live. There's a real sense of community, people are living their lives, new people are constantly being rescued and welcomed into the fold. Jenni is happy with the love of her life, Juan. Katie and Travis are happily married and expecting their first child.

However, the world outside is still infested with zombies, as well as a very human threat who wants to take control of the fort and push her own ideas of what the new world order should be.

Not to mention that when the zombie threat once again becomes a very serious issue, people can do some really strange things. All of a sudden, there's fighting, chaos, kidnappings, and a whole bunch of surprises I didn't expect.

The story is once again told in the POV of several survivors, each one adding a little more to the story as it moves along to a devastating climax.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It's got some pretty intense, action-packed scenes, as well as heartbreaking ones. There were several times when I was holding my breath and my heart was pounding so hard, I just couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I also got tears in my eyes several times, because some very sad things happen...

This is definitely one of the best trilogies I've ever read. Loved it.
