Luke Warren, loosely based on a real man who lives among wolves, has a wife and two children. Their lives, however, are hardly typical. Georgie, his wife, has left him and formed another family; son Edward moved to Thailand and has not returned in six years; daughter Cara remains true to her father and his obsession with the wolves. An accident one night brings the family together again in an agonizing story of end-of-life decisions. We are introduced to Luke's pack of wolves where trust in the family is vital for survival. Will Luke's family be able to come together and make the "right" decision? I liked the parallel stories, was fascinated by both. Another good Jodi Picoult read - she's amazing.
