this is a snarky sidekick to the Christ as never before portrayed. Christopher Moore has humanized Jesus to the point of having a lusty, wise-cracking best friend named Biff who's been commissioned, from the grave no less, to write his eyewitness account of the life of Christ. Biff reads the four gospels while embarking on his own narrative and wonders why those guys left out all the good stuff?

So here it is, Lamb, The Gospel according to Biff. A funny, irreverent, at times erotic read. I laughed outloud at parts. I won't let my kids read it until they are at least 16 due to disturbing violence and even more disturbing sexual references. But the heart of the story is awesomee. I like Moore's fictional tale of Jesus, aka Joshua, hanging out with his best buddy and getting into various mischief and discovering adolescent sexuality through the experiences of his friend. This book gives a very human portrayal of Christ, that though at times is snarky, it's never disrespectful. An imaginative story that deserves it's reputation among my friends who urged me to read it.
