I read this book because I'm researching Chick-Lit for my own writing and it was in a box of books I won at a Chinese auction. I never expected to like it. I had read three other Harlequin Intrigue novels from the same box and each had ended up in recycling, not even being worth passing on.

Surprise! I like the character, Silver, stripper/dancer-turned-community-college-student. I like several of the characters, as a matter of fact, and the barbed quips of the heroine. It made me laugh. The plot was transparent and I never really wondered "who-dunnit" but the journey of the story was worth reading anyway.

Fun and light read if you want to crawl into a hot bath with a glass of wine.
