Sadly, I have only the vaguest recollection of the details of the two previous League novels (I think I did manage to retain most of the first one), but this one was really pretty good. It actually felt like a sci-fi adventure with a romance thrown in, rather than the other way around. That being said, it still had enough Kenyon-isms that I'd still end up calling it a romance rather than a sci-fi book (a fact which I may or may not have called her on if I hadn't skimmed a bit of the last book to try to refresh what the heck happened--repeated usage of the term "lickable" in relation to someone's abdomen is hard to miss.)

(view spoiler)

I can't say I'd put the series as a whole up against, say, Butcher's books, but this one and Born of Night are both in the 3.5 range.
