really liked it
bookshelves: picture-book, toys, girls, bunnies, pattern, play, imagination, dialogue, moral

This book reminds me of the Velveteen Rabbit, with a little more sass. Emily teaches a very naughty queen how to make a toy real. This book is a great opportunity to play with silly voices when reading the royal decrease of the queen through the personalities of her "Commandos". Suitable for preschoolers and kindies, possibly for students up to grade 2. They will appreciate the references, silly voices and Emily's epic imagination.

Carol Ekster I immediately thought of the Velveteen Rabbit, too!
