really liked it

No matter what time of year you read this book, you'll swear you hear the rattle of ice cubes in the iced tea and the squeak of the screen door when you read it. Scattergood does a wonderful job invoking a small town in the summertime, and helps us see the issue of civil rights through the eyes of a young white girl.
