Shiny stars for a fun, easy escape. This is a time-travel story and it would have been intriguing to see a little mixing up of technologies and timelines but I understand that several hours had to be set aside for wound descriptions and lovemaking -- those Scots!

Minus a star for the Ken Follet-style sex -- seems there's an entire industry already doing that stuff.

I wouldn't recommend 'Outlander' to a high brow book group but I do recommend it to anyone who enjoys lively characters and historical fiction. I suspect this may be a "romance" as well - there was a bit of bodice ripping and a few castles.
