I heartily enjoyed this from beginning to end and read it in one sitting. In fact, I (retrospectively?) enjoyed it more than the first book in the series.

However, I keep comparing it with Austen. The style's good, the plot's very nice...but the characters. They're so simple compared with Austen's that I can't help but wish for more from them. Granted, I'm comparing apples and oranges...but the book is sold on that comparison, so I can't help bringing it to mind.

So if possible, let Austen be Austen, and enjoy this book on its own merits :)

Interestingly, I read it right after a writing book based on screenplay structure, and it hit the points almost to the page.
