I read this in a day. A day full of school, homework, and toddlers, and I flew through it like my eyeballs were on fire. I am the sort of person to chuckle quietly when I find something in a book funny, but this made me laugh multiple times so hard the kids asked me what was wrong. It is a mostly hysterical, sometimes awkward, sometimes heart-wrenching look into the life of a woman who grew up in rural West Texas. I have lived in San Angelo, and let me tell you, SHE SPEAKS TRUTH.

My mother always adored the feeling of laughter through tears, and I can honestly say that seems to be the ideal that Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess) lives her life by. Buy this book. Borrow this book. Read it. Laugh. You won't be sorry.
