it was amazing
bookshelves: godson-gifts, reviewed, childrens-picture-books

As a child with a little black dog, I loved this book. The rhythm is great and even now, I could probably recite the whole darn thing to you -- or at least describe each one of Hairy Maclary's doggie friends. Hairy collects his friends through town -- until a tomcat scares them all home. This is the first of several Hairy Maclary books, but for some reason, I never bothered with the others. My godson just liked the steady rhythm that builds with this one when people read it to him and because of the repetition, even he could start reciting along with me by the end of the first read.
