Part of me felt this was a simplistic mashup of Fforde's Thursday Next series(characters live in books and have a life outside the story) and The Princess Bride (fairytale with humor), and another part of me felt it was a cute YA novel. I waited a few days after finishing the story before writing my review so I could decide what I really felt about this book. The humor/lighthearted tone was appealing, and Jodi's touch is evident in a few metaphorical descriptions and the use of multiple narrators with different fonts. This is a fast read that doesn't require much from the reader, but the quirkiness of some characters makes the book fun.
