This book was incredible, one of the best books I have ever read. It tells the story of the events surrounding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln from General Lee's last days, to Union victory, assassination, and pursuit of the assassins. The writing was superb: from the beginning to end the prose kept moving with the right amount of details. I felt as if I were there, watching events unfold, and the story was very moving. Historical novels often fail to give a sufficient sense of the characters, but not so with this book which succeeded even in this. I was surprised at how good this book was--wow.
