bookshelves: abandoned

I just couldn't do it. I knew by staggering through Salem's Lot that maybe the King experiment I wanted to start on wasn't really for me after all.

I mean, I loved Nightmares and Dreamscapes (I read it last year) so I will go ahead and give Night Shift a try. But I think my affair with King, the novelist, ends with only a few of them under my belt (The Shining, which I read in high school, and Salem's Lot).

So far, to me, King thrives as a short story author. The Body, Shawshank, Nightmares and Dreamscapes. . .I barely have a complaint. But I've struggled through the actual novels, abandoning more then I've completed. Just not for me.

10.0% "The book is not even close to 413 pages but the print is very, very tiny so it might be that length on 'normal' pages. Great tension already. THIS is the compulsive reading I've heard about."
