I have been lusting after this book since they announced they were writing it. Since reading it, I firmly believe they are exactly who they say they are, and live exactly the way they say they live. Some might call me naive, but I can't imagine why a family would live a lie with every breath they take in order to keep up the facade, if they are in fact anything other than what they say they are.
It's funny, when I posted that I started reading it on FB, my mother-in-law commented, wondering that a book about sister wives was written by the man. I imagined her response would be something like that, considering what she thinks of their religion, which is basically something like patriarchal and oppressive, and seeing as the women wrote like 90% of the book, that's just not how it is. They have a wonderful family and the writing is clever and witty and insightful, and I'm just SO FASCINATED with pretty much every single kind of Mormon Fundamentalists, and I thoroughly enjoyed this read.
